Here is their product specs description:

30′ cord lets you move around freely

Review: Mortal Kombat: Armageddon – Xbox

October 28, 2006 on 10:01 am | In XBox 360, midway, mortal kombat, review, video games | No Comments

Mortal Kombat ArmageddonMortal Kombat: Armageddon
Developer: Midway
ESRB: M (Mature) | Game Type: Fighting
iBT Score: 85%

Mortal Kombat Armageddon is the latest offering from the MK series! This will be the last installment on the Xbox platform, and its going out with a bang. This time all fighters will come together to make the biggest MK fight of all.. Armageddon!!

MK:A comes packed with new levels including new 3d renditions of older 2d levels from past MKs. There is an all new Konquest mode, and the all new Motor Kombat, both of which are an incredibly amusing sidetrack from the action. The Krypt also makes a return and has also been reworked offering a ton of new media stuff. There are two never before seen features in any MK game, they are: Kreate a Kharachter(KaK) and Kreate a Fighter(KaF).

The Story
The fury of Mortal Kombat has brought the realms to the brink of total destruction. Every warrior has been summoned to this last epic battle, where survival depends on their ability to… FIGHT!

I’m calling shortest story EVAR!!!!!! ;)

Mortal Kombat ArmageddonThe Controls
MK:A follows in the footsteps of the last few iterations of the series with its control scheme, so you should have no problem at all picking it up. There is no response issues apparent anywhere. Just classic MK.

Graphics & Sound
Mortal Kombat just looks great! Its been polished to the point where you wouldn’t expect anything more from the Xbox. Everything from the weapons, clothing, arenas and even the blood look very clean and crisp. Particle effects add a nice touch to everything. The sound is clean as usual, but is not any major advancement. Although there are many new sound bits in there. The menu screens get an “A” in my book as well.

Mortal Kombat ArmageddonLasting Appeal
This Game is buckets of fun! I felt that the last few MK’s were great but a bit overwhelming in all the fighting styles. in MKA you have kept the best of the 2d and 3d games. Two fighting styles per character along with a weapon for each. Air Kombat has been added, reminiscent of MK2+3, and just looks superb and is as equally fun to watch somebody get whipped into the air then bounced off the ground into an air combo. In KaK and KaF you get to design your own charachter and your own fatalities down to the T. These two features alone will keep you occupied for hours on end just trying to recreate your favorite actor, superhero etc.. And finally with 60+ characters to choose from you wont run out of new kombatants to learn!

Motor Kombat is a fun mini-kart racing game that heavily reminds me of the Mario Kart franchise. It’s a rough game in many aspects but is fun and challenging.

In Closing
Mortal Kombat Armageddon brings it. It just brings it, and we at iBloggedThis are very satisfied with how it’s played. Not only that, but the game actually costs $39.99 which makes that THAT much more appealing. However, we do have a few minor downsides. 1) we do sorta miss the old fatalities, maybe they are in there somewhere, but the new KAF system is HOT. 2) I personally miss puzzle fighter, so i’ll have to keep deception laying around! But those aside its a well rounded game that has brought back the feeling that i had while playing MK3 in the arcade.
For $39.99 this game is a must to add to the collection

iBT scores this game 85%

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon is available for purchase now.

Saints Row For The Xbox 360

Publisher: THQ
Developer: Volition
Genre: Third-Person Action
Release Date: August 29, 2006
ESRB: Mature

The excitement for this game is clear: “Saints Row, the single-player demo set a new record for downloads over Xbox Live Marketplace. The file, which hit Xbox Live on August 1, was jacked 350,000 times in its first week of release–the most of any demo for the Xbox 360.” Source

Quick impressions: Saints Row should stack up comparably to the much loved Grand Theft Auto series. This one of the games that should display the great power of the Xbox 360 and figures to impress. The fact that customization of the main character is involved really puts the game over the top. People love to get involved with any story, and making the character feel and appear any way you want is a major plus. This game will succeed for the simple fact that it can be taken onto Xbox Live.

**This is our first impression of the game. Check back tomorrow for follow up review!**

-First some proof that we played the game:

Today iBloggedThis was fortunate enough to get our hands on a copy of Madden 2007 for the XBOX 360. Without boring you with unnecessary details, here is my review of the game: (Please note that this was just jotting down notes as it came to me)

First thing right out of the gate, my 360 told me I had to update my console. Now I haven’t played much of my 360 due to time constraints, but this is the first time I have ever seen this. I was worried at first ;)

First things first, pick your favorite team. Easy selection for me personally, the New York Jets.

Here is a breakdown of the game menu:

Now onto the Jets roster, got to see how Madden rated my boys. Wow, Shaun Ellis a 93 (Overrated!), Doug Jolley a 80 (WAY to high), Adrian Jones a 79 (too low), Kerry Rhodes a 78 (WAY WAY WAY Low, should have been an 85!), Overall I think Madden overrated a lot of Jets, and underrated a lot of Jets; I am a little disappointed.

The Free Agent pool is a little out-dated (that is standard though!) Ty Law is still a free agent, instead of being a part of Herm Edward’s squad.

Now onto playing: the play now feature gave me Jets vs Dolphins, perfect. They added the ability to pick what time you want to play, I chose 1:00pm.

I am a little rusty, and I didn’t take a look at the controls, so this should be an experience.
Nice a Home Team introduction. Madden will do what all real games do, and introduce the home team. The cheers, the smoke, the fireworks, nice little touch. They don’t introdce all the players, I only got Shaun Ellis, Curtis Martin, Lav Coles, and Chad Pennington. The away team received no such introduction.

Kicking is different, lets give it a try. (Thankfully I got a small tutorial real quick) – Weird, it is a pull the stick back and flick forward, think Mario Party fishing. But it is fairly easy.

Now for my pre-game adjustments: took out Chad for Kellen Clemens, Curtis for Cedrick Houston, started Mangold.

First play, they threw it for 3 yards, no biggie. My feet are now wet.

Now to play a little without you guys!

Audibles are cool, a little zoom in on the top right corner on the QB. It seems like audibles are more frequent this year, or its just Daunte. Stopped the Phins and forced a 55 yard field goal, some how the computer made it. Stupid Olindo Mare.

Well that didn’t go well, third and four and I ran a playaction. I see my fullback wide open for the easy first, but off screen is Will Allen. Needless to say it is 7 the other way. That was the games fault, which kind of sucks! (I honestly believe that the field needs to be wider.)

Vilma with an interception, I hope INT’s aren’t this easy!

Cedric Houston fumbled on the 3! Zach Thomas picked up the ball and took it the other way. The play will be reviewed since it occurred with under 2 minutes left in the half. Overturned, phew! Reviews are very similar.

You can actually bat balls at the line of scrimmage as a DT. I tried it with full intentions of doing it, and it worked, pleasantly suprised!

At the half the Jets are up 14-10.

You can even develop screen plays, nice! I almost thought that the screen would never, ever work in a Madden game.

The deep ball is interesting, the game slows down ever so slightly when there is a big play possible. Even a little sound is made when this happens. That being said, Touchdown Coles.

Just like any year, and in real football, it is tough to recover when you gamble for the interception. Touchdown Marty Booker, 21-17, Jets.

I am finding that there really isn’t a happy median between pass rush. I either get a lot, or very little pressure when throwing the ball.

Weird tackle, I just ran into Ronnie Brown with Victor Hobson, and Brown went down without any animation. That is still a minor flaw. Hopefully Madden will fix that one day :-/

Can’t believe I am saying this, but I miss Madden in the booth a little bit. The hometown announcer is some how too quiet.

I think I have gone though the entire playbook, same old same old, nothing they can do about that really.

Blocking is much more realistic, still having problems with a natural pass rush though. Only one sack this game.

Overall Impressions:

I liked the game, but it did not blow me away. It seems that Madden has peaked a little bit in terms of what they can do to improve the game. That being said I have not fully embraced all the new features, and all football junkies will enjoy the new rosters and minor tweaks. I hope that I will come to like this game a lot more over the next few games, but I am not too hopeful.

Dead Rising Demo Available For Xbox 360

August 4, 2006 on 1:38 pm | In Dead Rising, Demo, XBox 360, video games, xbox | No Comments

The much anticipate game “Dead Rising” demo is now available for download for the Xbox 360. The demo download is 1014 MB in size and has received some nice reviews already. Right now the game is purely single player and does not have any multi-player functions. The game is only playable for 15 minutes, which kind of stinks, but gives players a nice taste of what is to come. The game’s hero, Frank, starts equipped with a sledgehammer and a shotgun, and as gamers progress through the zombie-infested mall, they can pick up other items to use against the undead meatbags. The Demo is not available in Mexico, Germany, Australia, New Zealand or Asia. The game will be available for purchase on August 8th for those in the USA, and on September 8th for those in Europe.

Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting Review (Xbox 360 Live Arcade)

August 2, 2006 on 11:51 pm | In XBox 360, live arcade, review, street fighter, video game, xbox | 3 Comments

SF IIGenerally I would write a review by going into some details of the different aspects of the game, and then in the conclusion section lay it all out and tell you if the game is any good or not.

Screw that. I am going to lay it out straight for everyone right here, with no bullshit to read.

Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting for the XBOX 360 Live Arcade is just horrible. Do not spend your $ on this game, worst $10 ever spent. Capcom dropped the ball big time on this one.

This is probably one of the worst ports I have ever played and mainly because of horrible controls. The controls are off, laggy, and generally less than responsive. In the on-line mode of SF II HF this only gets much worse.

Graphically the game is where it has always been. Nothing new to see, it’s just a straight port. This means no HD, and the game is not full screen for those of you who have a wide screen TV. You have the option of “stretching” out the image and making it full screen, but it just looks terrible that way.

Sounds seem a little muffled, but so was the original game. Once again, absolutely nothing exciting there either.

The on-line mode is just a nightmare. Lag, lag, and more lag. Laggy controls, and laggy games all over the place. It might take you 10 minutes to finally make it into a match and once you do, you’ll be frustrated with slow to respond controls and game lag. Granted that once more people have downloaded the game it might be faster at matching you up, but will more people online mean increased lag?

I am certain that there are a bunch die-hard SF II fans who will love this game any way they can get it. If you are not one of them, I would advise avoiding this game and the tempting nostalgic feeling you have. Why? Because you’ll end up regretting spending that $10.

This game gets a 5/10 and that’s high, only because it’s SF II.

Microsoft XBOX 360 Update coming with major enhancements

May 26, 2006 on 3:19 pm | In XBox 360, video games | No Comments

Microsoft has announced the first major XBOX 360 update, which is coming next Friday(June 2nd), and it will include some major enhancements.

Here is a list of the new features and changes:

  • Background Download Manager: This was probably the most requested feature for the 360. ThiXBox 360 Active Downloads new feature will allow you to download XBox Live Marketplace content in the background, as you use your XBOX to play games or do anyting else. The download manager will pause downloads automatically during multiplayer experiences, and continue downloading once you are finished playing online.
  • Dashboard Boot-Up: Probably the second most asked for feature. Your XBOX 360 will be able to boot directly into the dashboard, instead of whatever game or movie that you have loaded in the DVD drive. This will be an option which can be changed at anytime.
  • Xbox Live Marketplace: The Marketplace is finally getting a make-over, to make it easier to navigate and find content.
  • Control Marketplace Videos: You will be able to fast-forward and rewind marketplace content.
  • Enhanced Photo Viewing: This will allow you to preserve folders on memory cards when you transfer to your 360 and also tweaks the slideshow.
  • Music Player and DVD Playback Improvements: DVD Bookmarking comes to the XBox 360. Your 360 will remember where you stopped a movie, and continue playing where you last watched from, even if you have changed discs, or have powered it off.
  • Friends Status Update: When your 360 screen saver comes on, your online status becomes “away”, just like AIM/ICQ.
  • Xbox Live Vision: Support for the upcoming 360 camera will be added on with this update.
