Video: Microsoft Vista Speech Recognition Tested - Perl Scripting
February 14, 2007 on 5:47 pm | In funny, microsoft, recognition, software, speech, video, vista, windows | 4 CommentsSo how good is the speech recognition software in the brand new Microsoft Vista anyway? Lets say for a second that you were able to successfully install MS Vista in your computer and you got it running. Now you want to test out the new features, one of them being this great speech recognition. Well, writting a simple document is just boring - so why not try to write an extremely short Perl script instead?
This Perl script would take around 20 seconds to write by typing it out.. So, seriously - It shouldn’t take more than 2, 3 or maybe even 5 minutes to write this Perl script using the Vista speech recognition, even while you are learning how to it, right?

Anthony from The Opie and Anthony Show installs Windows Vista
February 3, 2007 on 12:18 am | In funny, microsoft, opie and anthony, pc, video, vista, windows, xm radio | 6 CommentsAnthony from The Opie and Anthony Show on XM Radio and Free FM was excited to get the new Microsoft Windows Vista on his computer. He picked up his copy of Vista on the night of its release, and went home to install it on his brand new high end “Vista Ready” Dell PC.
Unfortunately the install didn’t go as planned as his hardware(very high end NVidia) was found to be incompatible with Vista, but not until the whole install process was almost complete and he was greeted with the ever-so-popular Blue Screen Of Death.
Here is a quick video of Anthony “installing” Windows Vista after troubleshooting his issue for a few hours:

Update:
Before this gets blown out of proportion, it’s obviously a joke.. We all know that Macs do not hate PCs and Windows.. You’ve seen the Apple ads, they get along great!
Microsoft Windows Vista Beta 2 - Available Via BitTorrent, for now
June 12, 2006 on 7:45 pm | In bittorrent, microsoft, website, windows | 1 CommentAnyone who has tried to download Windows Vista Beta 2 in the last few days knows that Microsoft is experiencing extremely high download demand. Microsoft is currently recommending that people order the Windows Vista Beta 2 DVD, instead of downloading it from their site.
VistaTorrent, created by two “Windows enthusiasts”, Chris and Jake, is the unofficial BitTorrent download site for Microsoft Windows Vista Beta 2. The guys at VistaTorrent were able to download the full ISO from Microsoft, and set up a BitTorrent tracker to let others download it, instead of having to order it. They are also providing an MD5 hash to verify the file after downloading it.
Since Microsoft hasn’t been known to exactly embrace distributing their software via BitTorrent, grab it while you can.
