Monopoly 2.0 In Retrospect

Yesterday Parker Brothers announced the new Monopoly featuring plastic cards instead of paper money.

“Monopoly board game players can now pay for properties with debit cards.” Parker said replacing of cash with plastic showed the game was moving with the times.

This new found way of transactions can be looked at in many different ways. For one, it should speed up an already long game. Players will no longer have to do slow mental math in order to make a purchase. Cheating will also be affected by the introduction of plastic since players can no longer hide or steal the paper money. In reality, the only thing that sucks is the fact that you can no longer have the satisfaction of having the biggest pile of cash. We don’t know about you, but we love to flaunt our dollar bills in our competition’s face.
