Comcast tech falls asleep on the job
June 21, 2006 on 8:38 pm | In comcast, funny, video | 3 CommentsImagine waiting at home for a Comcast tech to come out to replace a faulty cable modem. As if waiting for the tech to get there is not aggravating enough by itself, once he finally arrives, he spends an hour on hold on the phone with Comcast’s central office, and falls asleep in the process.. On your couch.
What do you do? You Record it, of course, and make a tribute video out of it.

It appears that instead of “SELECT”, the button is actually labeled “SERECT”.
Oops! You probably want to double check little things like that before showcasing your upcoming gaming console. There are more pics over at Kotaku. – Photoshop or not, you be the judge.

You Tube: All your video are belong to us
June 2, 2006 on 3:07 am | In funny | 9 CommentsYou Tube is currently down for maintenance, but instead of their normal message of:
“You have reached YouTube, the premier digital video repository on the Internet. We are currently working on the site.”
the site just said: “All your video are belong to us“. That message, while being quite funny, apparently caused some concern, and people have been calling their offices believing that YouTube has been hacked. YouTube has since updated the message stating “No, we haven’t been hacked. Get a sense of humor.”, and also asking people to stop calling.

Infinium Labs changes name to Phantom Entertainment
May 30, 2006 on 8:52 pm | In funny, technology, video games | No Comments
Remember Infinium Labs?
Infinium Labs™, Inc. was founded by a management team with extensive experience in interactive media, entertainment and technology. The company is set to launch a cutting edge online gaming service. The Phantom® Game Service will be delivered online over any broadband network and will offer a broad library of games designed to appeal to both the avid gamer as well as the casual player.
If not, Infinum Labs is the company that promised to deliver The Phantom, an on-demand video game service, delivering games via an online subscription. After blowing through an estimated $62.7 million over 3 years from investors without ever launching a single functional product, and with their former CEO under investigation for stock fraud, Infinium Labs, is now changing their name to Phantom Entertainment(ok – that’s just funny!).
Infinium Labs, won 3rd place at the 2004 Wired Vaporware awards, and 1st place at the 2005 Wired Vaporware awards.
Apparently, they have now scrapped all plans for The Phantom as they have decided to double the amount of outstanding shares issued in an effort to raise additional cash, to focus on getting their gaming “lapboard” peripheral to market.
