10. They take commercial breaks at the most inappropriate times…AND make the breaks TOO LONG.

    Any broadcaster with experience or wisdom would:
    rearrange the break times…
    move the commercials to allowable times…
    and/or “make good” what needs to be (as the news channels).

    Is there any way they can screw-up their coverage of Comic-Con, too?…

12. Just remember all this complaining you are doing next time you are at a sporting event or in a movie theater. That is to say don’t be rude and talk and/or get up before the Movie has totally ended. And don’t get up and leave a sporting event before it is over rather your team in losing or not.

    This is just a classic example of how it seems most of us Americans are, and don’t show respect to the people entertaining us.

And by the way they finished showing the trailer after the commercial if you were paying attention. Next year G4 should get a sponsor so they can provide commercial free coverage. I miss TechTV too. 23. G4TV has been fucked since tech tv took over, the only redeeming part of this epic fuck up is that you can hear Adam Sessler whisper screaming at the jackoff’s in charge of this. If you turn it all the way up you can hear Adam whisper at the top of his lungs, “what!? They’re still showing it….” commercial. Tech TV go to hell, bring back the old G4 shows and producers, back when there was no ninja warrior, man show, gay ass old star trek, and instead of Attack of the show, there was G4TV.com that actually was all about gaming. The only good thing from tech tv is x-play, keep them fix the others. On their behalf, they did say it was being broadcast commercial free on their website, however that doesn’t excuse the timing. They did get the Nintendo conference right, they cut a lot of the poor English speech’s and Japanese translations to a tolerable length by timing the commercials well. I don’t think one trailer or important piece of info got left out.

    Seriously, I hope you’re joking! First of all, G4TV bought out TechTV.

    Secondly, TechTV was amazing. They had one of the most solid line-ups of shows and hosts. The Screen Savers, Fresh Gear, Unscrewed, TechTV News and Leo Laporte, Patrick Norton, Martin Sargent and countless others. G4TV came-in firing all of them on the spot, as well as cancelling all the shows. Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb are the only two good (and original) hosts remaining. They must be getting paid an ungodly amount of money to keep working for that shitty corporation. Simply put, G4TV absolutley ruined TechTV. I used to have TechTV tuned on 24/7.

    And for your fucken information, TechTV had nothing to do with the buyout or the new shows. Guess who brought Ninja Warrior, Star Trek and Attack of the [shitty] Show to G4? G FUCKING FOUR DID, GET YOUR FUCKING FACTS RIGHT! DO NOT BLAME TECHTV FOR THE RETARD IN YOURSELF AND COMCAST. TechTV is completely innocent!

    If you ever make this mistake again, I swear to fucken god I will kill you myself in the name of TechTV.

33. I’m seeing a lot of people saying something to the effect of, “So what? You can just get the video online.” I must say that I’m astounded by this level of ignorance.

    As close to universal as the internet has become in North America, not every person who is interested in Halo 3 (or E3 in general) has a broadband connection to make it easy to get hold of whatever draws their interest. In fact, I’m certain that there are even some out there with an interest in the event and its materials that don’t have access to any sort of internet connection.

    What is the simplest solution for these people? Well, fortunately for them, E3 is being covered by G4TV. Unfortunately for them, some parts of the E3 coverage have obviously left a great deal to be desired.

    They messed up and should have someone call them on their mistakes. I’m happy to see that someone has.

On an interesting side note, if this was any sort of news channel or fox or any sort of crap, and the “live feed” was of Paris getting out of jail, Britney burning her babies, etc, it would have been life and uncut. Point of the matter, G4 completely fucked the entire feed from Microsoft, giving the people who paid them a little better, Sony and Nintendo, a -perfect- live broadcast of all their shit. Just like the government, who has the most money, gets the better press. G4 cut off all the videos of the best releases for M$ right as they started, so the users could get built up and then have their hopes crushed, as they completely missed the best release of their most anticipated games. In the same sense, Sony shows off “home” and several other piece of shit titles, and get perfect coverage. Tell me it has nothing to do with who pays the most… And no, it doesn’t completely involve halo 3 (although that was a major let down, with the commercial in mid preview), but several off M$’s big titles were cut off and/or decimated by G4’s horrible “coverage”…

I think the thing is its good seeing it live and when you’ve been waiting so long and some noobs who probs know barely anything about it come along and spoil it you can get really annoyed. I wasn’t looking forward to this trailer at all since i dont follow the Halo series but i completely symathise with Halo fans over this.

40. Don’t like G4, don’t watch G4. Advertisers pay the bills and they kind of like it when people watch.

    Also, I catch a few seconds of E3 and sometimes X-Play while flipping through channels. Adam and Morgan seem to be very effective at conveying how they feel about G4 in a non-verbal way. Their expressions and mannerisms just seem to scream “I am in hell.”

    For someone who uses punctuation and grammar properly, I can’t believe you make such irrational comments. I watched and DVR’ed all three conferences (on G4TV, all three were combined into two ‘broadcasts’- one for MS and one for both Ninty and Sony) and in my opinion even with DVR, I felt as though I was fast forwarding through the umpteenth CodeMonkey commercial more than watching any company’s actual showing.
    In terms of G4TV’s coverage, though I am a PS3 owner and diehard Sony fan, I got up from lying my fat ass on the couch and yelled at the TV at 3am when they cut the Halo footage. I would much rather cut the two musical productions than any game videos….
    Nintendos, though were cut right when people were making ‘announcements’ was the best covered by G4, which is like saying it was the best botched circumcision of the three.
    Sony’s was cut at random ass times, like for the Heavenly Sword and HALF of LittleBigPlanet…. two rather big names for Sony. Luckily they showed HS right after Sony ended, but I’m still waiting for LBP!!!! Not to mention half of the videos were not the Sony feed, but a camera trained on the giant screens from like 40 rows back making it hard to see anything in detail. I know this may be Sony’s fault with having 4 screens going, but still… choose a damn screen and even if its not the ‘best’ of the 4, at least you get crystal clear view of one of them isntead of shit views of 4 or two!
    I hate G4TV so much, but I watch it incessantly because watching a television feed is so much more pleasing than even my college broadband connections…. and maybe its because I am a Sony fan, but from what I see and read, G4 seems to have an UBER anti-Sony bias as of the last year or so. They cant get enough of FPS and XBOX and they were Wiigasming for a while, but it cooled down as of late.
    What the three companies should have done is been sponsors for their hours/hourandahalf that they were presenting and used the useless scroll to plaster their logos on the bottom of the screen and not cut to any commercials at all during their own broadcasts… Its win win, people see all you want to say in their entirety and G4 gets to pretend like they know what they are doing.
    And as for the station as a whole, I like Adam only when he gets to be himself for all of 3 seconds on X-play when he talks about his opinions and what he finds annoying/good without the prompter which means he has soooo much potential that is being squashed by nongamers. I think if they lose the comedy and video view mails (every episode of x-play: Morgan- time for another video viewer mail, words Video Viewer mail flash across screen, animation runs for 4 seconds, announcer says Video Viewer Mail in a deep voice and crap ensues for 2 minutes unless Adam gets to rant about something… do you REALLY need THREE fucking introductions for one segment?!?!?!) and stick with reporting, they would quickly gain a dedicated following cuz alot of people like to see high quality footage…. that is why its TELEVISION and not the INTERNET… maximize eye candy and sound and leave the internet to frame by frame dissections.

So just STFU G4 knows how important Halo is to its veiwers! The hosts at least tried to stop them from putting it on the commercials! Well even then they made up for it and not only that, but its not like it was something big like Zelda or Dragon Quest! It was just Halo lol
