Czech Apple Advertisement (Picture)

Apparently the U.S.A. market can’t handle scandalous and sexy advertising… Check out this Apple ad found at a Apple store in the Czech Republic:

To be truthful, that just isn’t fair. Apple Ipods are sexy, and so is that girl, why not put the two together? Sure there will be people who will be offended (for no reason mind you), but we have to be willing to take that chance! Either way, we can always root for that ad campaign to make it overseas!

Loosely translated, we believe (based off a fundamental knowledge of language and some dictionary work) this means: “Ipod, the best “partner” for this year” It might also mean: “Ipod, Better than Sex this year”

  4. It’s not fake :) I live two streets from the Prague Apple store (it’s technically not an Apple store, but an “Apple Center”) and they really have these ads (and others :)).

    The text means “iPod - The best companion for the summer”
    Společník can also mean “friend” or “partner”; it’s derived from the word společnost, which means “company”.

  9. Dude, this is not fake. As a matter of fact, it’s an image from the official Apple Store. I’m Czech but I live in San Francisco so I understand your amusement. Neverthless, in Europe this is not a big deal - people wouldn’t think this is provocative or too sexy…

  12. Well, there are no Apple Stores in the Czech Republic, afaik. It might be an official ad, but not in an Apple Store. I think the only stores in Europe are in the UK. Might be a fake, but it’s true, a picture like that isn’t a big deal here.

  13. Well, if it is indeed an “Apple Center” ad, then it’s most certainly NOT an Apple ad. Apple Centers are run by independent distributors.

    If this really ended up in a czech advertisement, then it’s crazy.

    Looks like iPod/Nike in the US, is trumped by iPod/Adidas in some Apple-stocking stores in Cz.

  25. This ad was NOT used by the Apple Center in Prague. It was created by the Czech Apple Independent Marketing Company (IMC) Czech Data Systems (CDS) which is owned by a company called Mideast Data Systems Holdings (MDSHoldings) based in Budapest.
