Selling Your Soul: Digg Style

July 31, 2006 on 10:47 am | In digg, ebay | 2 Comments

Late last night Techcrunch wrote about one Digg.com user who was selling his profile on ebay.

Here is a look at the auction as of late last night:

This situation has caused a lot of debate among the internet community. Most people feel that the idea of selling your account for money is selling out, while some feel it is a smart business decision. What most people agree on is the fact that this is most likely against the Digg TOS, and that the account will be deleted shortly.

What really made this interesting was the fact that the digg profile for sale was hacked by another digg member:

The member who originally owned the digg profile had a password of “digg” set for the account. Genius.

The “hacker” returned the profile, nice of him.

The auction is currently at $325.00, you can track the progress of the auction Here
